Monday morning after: While I am personally just trying to recover and catchup on deferred tasks, I can report that the weekend was a complete success, beyond any reasonable expectations. Bob Lampson and Bill Shepard arranged a wild golf outing. My teammates, Harold Begley, Mel Pheffer and Dave McClendon, gave me the golfballs they won to replace all the ones I lost. Dick and Elaine Holmes put on a picnic spread for more than 160 classmates and guests that was phenomenal. More than 50 Ladies had a wonderful luncheon on Saturday hosted by Carol Crank Phillips and Mimi Thomas Eckels, with assistance from others. Diane Crawley Basham, Patty O’Brien Winter and Ed Harnett made the dinner and evening at the convention center just perfect for the rest of us. Pete Clark was Mr. Shirtman and Thankyou guy. Tom Keck, Joan Land Burd and Dorothy Cline Prentice were inspiring in word or thought. Sharon Kaelson Cunningham courageously and gracefully led the 18 (or more) member Knightlites Singing Line in song and fun. We had lots of laughs, a few tears and such great renewal of friendships. We’ll never forget this time!!!

In my last comment, I intentionally did not mention the role that Jo Ann Sears Wright plays in making it possible for us to have a Reunion. Jo Ann deserves special recognition and thanks, more than anyone else. She is the backbone and foundation upon which the whole reunion effort rests. For many years, she has selflessly maintained all the records of our class, kept track of all the registrations and payments, maintained the bank account, paid the bills, goes to enormous effort to find missing classmates, enters all the registration information in her database, sends out all the emails and mailings, attends meetings, provides essential comments and suggestions, and with sincere passion and caring makes everyone feel wanted and welcome. She has done this while having a career, raising a family and caring for a wonderful guy, Allen. I salute and thank her both for myself and for our entire class. She typifies the very best of the standards and values we hold dear. Jo Ann

Does anyone have a picture of JoAnn and Allen? Be sure to see Dean’s November update here–
The Reunion was great. I felt that we really got to “know” people. It was good to see those I had not seem in several years. Thanks to all on the planning committe!
“there were so many memories and
faces to recognize and people to remember and chat with and reaquaint
with, that I became almost dithered. Overwhelmed might be a better word.”
